This is as close to bitching about this class as I could. It sounds more like you could play it over the beginning of a trailer for ds106 the movie. Maybe show some cars or dust blowing in the wind and then close up on the Reverend. I just now realized I’m a day late. Who turns things in on a Wednesday at midnight?
[audio:http://blog.andrewallingham.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ds106bitch_allingham1.mp31.mp3|titles=ds106bitch_allingham.mp3]edit: The song is “Open Heart Surgery” by the Brian Jonestown Massacre, just the best revivalist rock band around.
This is hilarious! “What’s Jim Groom? Exactly. What’s. Jim. Groom.” lol Love it!
Man, this is so well done, the music, the voice, the aura, the What’s. Jim. Groom.” I love it, brilliant, creating like it is your job, that’s what you are here for.

Jim Groom was right. The kid does know audio.
Nice job.
How’s about doing a promo for the Thin Slice from the Edge program? I’ll bet the prof would give some Xtra creditz.
ds106, the movie. now that’s a movie I’d love to see. love your work.
Sounds like a stinger used in This American Life in between acts or segments, nice!
picking the musical bits for This American Life = my dream job. Actually, being the assistant to whoever picks those songs would be key, he/she is already doing a great job.
this was hilarious and loved the background music!
also the mp3 thing, is that a plugin you found? if so, please share
just re-looked at the title of your blog post and how great would it be if we actually made a documentary or a mockumentary about this class??
The plugin is Audio Player,
you can find it here
This is perfect! The tone, the background music… *applause*
(very similar to how I view this class, except I’ve stopped thinking of it as a class… it’s more of a generalized “Explorations in Internet Creativity” focus group. haha.)
hahaha! This is so awesome! The audio recording is such good quality. How do you get such good quality recording? Mine always sounds fuzzy.
I wish I had a magical solution, but unfortunately it’s probably because I have a decent (relatively expensive) microphone. I bought an MXL990 about 5 years ago and I’ve been recording music and what-not ever since.
Awesome! Great sound, great lines, great idea.
